Chania Food and City Tour
Duration 3 hours
Crete’s cuisine is internationally renowned for its exquisite taste and high nutritional value. This is due to its terrain and farming, which bring a flavour of authenticity to all our local delicacies from the meat to the vegetables, and from the cheeses to the honey and herbs, the Cretan dishes will make you wish to stay here forever.
Indulge yourself with this food tour, starting with a Greek coffee or mountain tea and an old-fashioned sweet breakfast next to the city’s pensioners reading their morning newspapers. Then, walking for an hour along the serpentine alleys of the Venetian harbour with its architecture remains that offer photo options to take your breath away.
After that, re-entering the present to taste a variety of authentic local dairy, honey, olive oil and olives and continue by strolling for about an hour and a half to the ottoman quarter of the town, all the while comparing and contrasting the different cultures and religions which were bonded to create the unique character of the town.
Our tour ends at a traditional kafeneio well known amongst the locals for a delicious lunch with options both for vegetarians and non-vegetarians as well as local spirits.
